Tilak Ceremony
The day started with a small puja being performed by Punditji, Karan, Shweta’s father, Mamaji and brother. After that the family members performed tilak on Karan, as a gesture to show their love and respect. Karan once again graciously accepted whole ladoos and humbly accepted gifts offered.
Godh Bharai
Following the teeka ceremony, Shweta was escorted by her entourage consisting of Mamiji’s, Masi, Bua and friends to the banquet hall. Mumma and Karan’s family devoured Shweta with gifts, jewellery, doll and shringar (make up), clothes and mithai in beautifully decorated trays and baskets (each uniquely prepared by Mumma). These gifts were placed in Shweta’s jholi or lap. All of the gifts are signs of marital bliss and are considered shubh.
